The Urban Entrepreneur Partnership Inc. is a program of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation based in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Kauffman Foundation focuses its grant-making and operations on two areas: advancing entrepreneurship and improving the education of children and youth.
Established in the mid-1960s by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Marion Kauffman, it is among the 30 largest foundations in the United States, with an asset base of approximately $2 billion.
The Urban Entrepreneur Partnership, Gulf Coast, Inc. works with local and federal partners to identify and obtain resources to support our programs.
In May 2007, Louisiana Economic Development (LED) selected the UEP Gulf Coast Inc. as one of nineteen (19) technical assistance providers to receive a two-year, $750,000 grant to help rebuild and revitalize areas of Louisiana devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Specifically, UEPGC’s partnership with LED focuses on assisting entrepreneurs in starting or growing businesses in the southern Louisiana parishes most affected by the storms. The LED program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The mission of Louisiana Economic Development is to provide excellence in leadership, policy and programs to create a business climate enabling public-private linkages, which result in capital investment, a diversified economic base and quality job opportunities for all Louisiana citizens.
